Corresondence: 1/00 Passenger #4 Royds

Clement, later Sir Clement Royds, was the cousin of an ancestor of mine. He
was a banker and businessman (he was a director of the British railway company
which named an engine after him), and later wrote a book "The Pedigree of the
Family of Royds" which was published privately in 1910. He lived in Rochdale,
Lancashire, where his ancestors had built their fortune in the wool trade in the
latter half of the 18th Century and which they then used to found a bank.
He did not settle in the US, and his descendants remained in the UK.

In due course I will be loading the full family pedigree onto my Royds site
at: http://freespace.virgin.net/nigel.watts1/afh/Royds/royds.htm
