Correspondence 02/27/2004 passenger #193 Nickel
Michael Nickel was my great-great grandfather. Two of his sons had
emigrated earlier, established themselves near Milwaukee (they were
working as loggers and sawyers, cutting ties for the railroad), and
then sent for their father. Michael traveled alone. (An adult daughter
stayed in Germany.)

Looking for information on Albert Friederich Nickel, one of those two
sons. He would have emigrated with three children (Albert F., Hedwig
and Wilhelm/William.) I don't have the name of Michael's other son.
Mark Nickel

Correspondence 08/06/2004 passengers #239-242 Drews & Klotz
Carl and Henrette Drews were my great-great grandparents. They were
traveling with their son-in-law (my great grandfather) Fredrich Klotz
and his daughter, six year-old Anna. They continued on to Chicago.
Karl and Henrietta's children include Emilie(1848), Auguste(1858), and
Albert(1860). Fredrich and Emilie's children include Carl(1871), Anna
(1875), Amanda(1877), Martha(1879), Frank(1882), Emil(1884), and
William(1887). Terry W.Klotz
