Read Write is written in the Remarks column where yes/no and the numbers have been entered. On other manifests on this film Money has also been written in. Numbers in this column with asterisks have been written with the final 2 digits elevated above the line and a line drawn under them as one would do to indicate cents. Missing or illegible letters are replaced with?. There are spaces left in the table to indicate the beginning of new pages. The number of pieces of baggage entries on the manifest signify by brackets that the number entered includes the entire family. The number given has been assigned here to the first family member listed. All others in the family have * entered in this column. A number of first names are written with the last letter or two above the line. This includes, Thos, Chs, Chas and Robt.4 The missing letters are "ei" or "ie." 13, 15 There is no line under the last two zeros of the numbers in the Remarks column. These zeros are elevated above the line, however. 21 the "L" in the last column is the pound sterling symbol. 41 Pieces of baggage is 1 or 2. One number was written over the other. 49 O?t??r?? This passenger has been added below the last line at the bottom of the page in another handwriting. 64 The age of this passenger is obscured by a dark blob. It is not possible to determine whether this was done intentionally or not. 67 Machinist is written in above Germany in the Nationality column. 86-87 The missing letter could be "c" "i" or "e." There is no visible dot above the letter. 88 First name is Anna or Annie. 104 This name is written as ditto marks under the "New" from the line above followed by Ton.
