This list of passengers was not numbered. The numbers were added by
the transcriber to make notations easier to read.
The "Occupation..." and "Remarks..." columns were left blank and
therefore, were eliminated.
5 OHara had no ' between the O and Hara, but no other middle
initials were recorded on this entire list, and there was
no space between the O and the Hara so I believe the last
name was O'Hara.
119 McAvoy could have been McOvoy
122 Seyorn could have been Seynn
212 Jn could have been Jm
215 Sex was written as Female, but had scratch marks through the
word Female to make you think the person writing tried to
change this to Male.
217 Francis could have been Frances
228 Mary could have been Marg
247 Mary could have been May
251 Age was left blank
Correspondence 05/13/02 passengers #178 & 179 Hill
I believe my GGGrandparent's traveled on the Ship AKBAR from Liverpool
to Boston on May 26, 1847. Their names are Catherine & Peter Hill.
The ages are about right. I don't know where they originally settled
but they eventually ended up in Lowell, Ma. They had at least 6 children
that I know of: Sarah-1852, John B. 1853, Elizabeth 1855 (my ggrandmother),
Michael 1860, Catherine? & Mary. Please write & let me know if there is
any way I can get more information on them or help you with more info.
I think Peter Hill fought in the Civil War, but haven't got proof yet.

Hugh Hillett sailed Liverpool to Boston 1847 on the *Akbar* aged 20.
I am researching James Hilet aged 20 aprox. married Sydney Australia
1841 to Anne English. No shipping details. Born Berkshire, England
approx. 1817. Big family of Hilet's here in Australia.

#222 on the Akbar, Liverpool to Boston, Massachusetts, May 26, 1847 List
I found Callahan Carty, on the Akbar list. This coordinates with the information
that he gave on the 1880 Massachusetts Census, in which he said he came to this
country in 1847. In the 1900 U.S. Census, his name was then listed as Callaghan
McCarthy, and they had 11 children, 4 of which were still living. He and his wife,
Elizabeth OBrien, were married for 40 years then, and his occupation was listed as
being a furniture dealer. His descendents mostly all live in the Boston area.
